Cabinet of Prints, Drawings and Photographs
The Kupferstich-Kabinett in Dresden is one of the oldest and most prestigious museums in Europe for drawings, prints, and photography. With a collection of about 515,000 works by over 20,000 artists from eight centuries, it offers a wide variety of themes. These range from secular and biblical scenes to portraits, landscapes, still lifes, scientific illustrations, and depictions of historical events. In regularly changing special exhibitions, both its own works and loans from international partner museums are displayed. Visitors also have the opportunity to view and study originals up close in the study room upon request.
