The special exhibition “Timeless Beauty: A History of Still Life” at the Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister invites visitors to explore the development and significance of still life. Until September 1, 2024, art lovers can admire over 90 paintings that depict the delicate beauty of the world with utmost precision and dedication. Loans from the Sculpture Collection, the Green Vault, and the Porcelain Collection are showcased in dialogue with the still lifes from the gallery’s vast collection.

Highlights and Activities

Look forward to works by renowned artists such as Frans Snijders, Jan Davidsz. de Heem, and Rachel Ruysch. These artists tell stories of exploration, collection, admiration, and transience through their works. The exhibition also offers a free audio guide and a children’s booklet for playful exploration. The accompanying program includes guided tours, art talks, workshops, and holiday programs for children.
